Program

● Invited Talk Title: Introducing the Journal of Servisology: Call for Papers and Research Opportunities in Service Studies

In this session, the Journal of Servisology, the official international journal of the Society for Serviceology, will be introduced. The presentation will explain the aims and scope of the journal, including current topics such as value co-creation, customer experience, service innovation, well-being, AI and digital transformation, and transformative service research. In addition, the current Call for Papers and publication opportunities will be introduced to encourage international research exchange and collaboration among researchers from diverse academic backgrounds.

Session Chair Biography
Dr. Takeshi Kurata holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and serves as the Director-General of AIST Kashiwa and Director of the Research Institute on Human and Societal Augmentation at AIST, Japan. He is also a Professor at the University of Tsukuba's Applied Service Engineering Laboratory and a Visiting Professor at Nagoya University.
Prof. Kurata’s research lies at the intersection of Applied Service Engineering and Intelligent Sensing. As highlighted in , his pioneering contributions to wearable computing and indoor localization earned him the prestigious ISWC 20-year Impact Award and multiple IEEE/SICE Best Paper Award Finalist honors. Dedicated to human and societal augmentation, he bridges advanced engineering with service ecosystems to drive meaningful social innovation.


Invited Speaker Biography
Dr. Jing Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Kanazawa University, Japan. Her research interests include service marketing and management, customer experience, value co-creation, and inclusive service systems. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Servisology, and a member of the working group for promoting the internationalization of the journal. She is engaged in advancing international academic collaboration and the globalization of interdisciplinary service research.


Co-Organizer Biography
Prof. Takeshi Takenaka holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Kobe University and currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Research Institute on Human and Societal Augmentation at AIST, Japan. His distinguished academic career includes key roles as a post-doctoral researcher, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo's Research into Artifacts, Center for Engineering (RACE).
Bridging Service Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, and Data Mining, Prof. Takenaka’s research focuses on designing value-creating service ecosystems through data-driven observation and analysis. By integrating insights from engineering, psychology, and economics, his work drives service productivity, the integration of service and manufacturing, and the development of regional service ecosystems. His impactful research has been prominently featured in top-tier journals like CIRP Annals.
